Find here a collection of videos teaching you the basics of the Hebrew letter sounds and vowel accents.
And, as always, you can find some study materials for Hebrew at my post Hebrew Language Resources.
I will be constantly updating this post, so please Email me if you find more resources for learning Hebrew.
Enjoy!
I have searched around quite a bit and this series of videos is definitely one of the best for learning the Hebrew alphabet: Their step-by-step approach to the teaching of the Hebrew letters is so well planned and systematic that you can easily learn to read Hebrew.
If you follow their advice, and study for at least 20 minutes a day (even if you only watch the videos, I suppose), you will be reading Hebrew words in no time.
So here they are:
Hebrew Alphabet: Introduction, letters "aleph", "bet" and vowel sounds
Hebrew Alphabet: letters from "aleph" to "dalet" and vowel sounds
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "hey" and "vav", letter sound "segol":
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "zain" and "chet", vowel sound "sheva"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "te" and "iud", vowel sound "qubutz"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "kaf" and Khaf", vowel "zeyre"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "lamed" and "mem", vowel "chirik"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "nun" and "samech", vowel "cholem"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "Ain" and "Peh"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "tzadeh" and "kuf"
Hebrew Alphabet: Letters "resh", "shin" (or "sin") and "taf"
Now, if you like learning through singing, prepare your vocal chords because you will love (I did!!) the next two videos:

I am very happy to have found your videos. They are very easy to understand. I am not so sure how to apply the chant to help with the vowel sounds-perhaps after watching it a few more times it will become clear.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to using your tools to aid me in being able to read Hebrew.
